Sanctuary Gig Night: Díre Pitan // Hannah Barnett
Sat 13th January 7:30-10:30pm, St John’s Hoxton, Pitfield St, N1 6NP
Dire Pitan: Díre is an award winning deeply soulful singer songwriter whose style of music is a blend of eclectic soul, with a fusion of jazz and classical notes. His vocal versatility instantly draws listeners to his music, as he is a vivid story teller, weaving evocative soundscapes as he navigates listeners through his life journey. Díre recently maxed out the renowned music venue Hard Rock Café, London at his debut headline show. He also featured during the 2016 UK tour of Grammy Award Winning Artist Pastor Charles Jenkins and has been in high demand within and outside of the UK. Díre will be playing with his live band, it's likely to be one of the largest set-ups we've had at a Sanctuary Gig Night.
Hannah Barnett: With just under half a million streams and online views from her self-released debut single "Nails", artist-in-waiting Hannah Barnett has already amassed a lot of interest. Her passion for music and song-writing began at the tender age of 8 when her primary school asked if anyone wanted to learn the drums. A year later and had moved onto the guitar, before keys and any other instrument she could get her hands on. Being influenced by an eclectic mix of genres, her song-writing eventually turned to production to bring the many elements together. Her sound has strong pop sensibilities. Influences from electronic, pop, rock and film score can be heard, blended with the raw lyrics of her unique, personable and very distinct voice.
